The design is instantly recognisable as Astro Bot and it stays faithful to the on-screen character, bringing some fun and personality to desks, gaming corners and even children’s bedrooms. Despite its cute appearance, the figure is built with stability in mind. It’s a good weight which is distributed perfectly and Astro’s hand positioning allows it to hold devices securely without wobbling, making it suitable for everyday use.

And the build quality is excellent. For the most part it feels extremely solid, the only weak point being the aerial on top of Astro’s head (but this isn’t a toy and shouldn’t be played with). Whether it is holding a phone, controller or other tech, Astro’s weight keeps it secure and stable so it doesn’t tip over and its sturdy construction and reliable outstretched arms making it suitable for both children and adults to use with ease.
Priced at £29.99 your initial thoughts may be that it is on the expensive side. Mine too. But it is an officially licensed character by Sony, styled on Astro from PlayStation’s Astro Bot. And the quality and detail is excellent, just by picking it up and feeling the weight lets you know that it going to do the job. And as for the job it is designed to do, it does it fantastically, it holds game controllers with ease, without tipping, keeping them neat, tidy and a great place to charge them, keeping everything clutter-free.
