You’re about to leave the house for the day and then you notice that your iPhone, AirPods, and even your Apple Watch are all running low on battery. But you only have one charger and only enough time to charge one before your leave. Which one do your charge? That is not a choice that you will have to make with the STM Goods ChargeTree Go, it can charge all three devices at once at home or even when you leave as you can easily take it with you.
The STM Goods ChargeTree Go is a slim, space-saving 3-in-1 vertical charger that stands neatly on a flat surface (desk, nightstand etc.) and folds up compactly so that you can take it with you. The ChargeTree Go is a very versatile wireless charging station. With all the devices we must charge to go about our technology-packed daily lives it means having a multitude of bulky chargers and messy cables trailing all over the place. The STM Goods ChargeTree Go means you can charge 3 of those devices – your phone, watch and Airpods – all at the same time and with only 1 cable and one charging stand. It can be used in a vertical position to charge all the devices, or when left in its folded up state can be used as a horizontal charging platform to just put your phone on. With its compact size, foldable design and carry bag, it is also the perfect travel companion so that you can charge all your devices wherever you can find a power outlet when out and about.
The ChargeTree Go is fast charger compatible with iPhone 8 and above, all series of Apple Watch and Apple AirPods (in their charging case). It is Qi certified and works with Android smartphones that support wireless charging. A very convenient and time-saving charger to keep your Apple devices charged.
It is a lightweight, compact device making it very portable, easy to throw in your bag or pocket. As it folds flat it is also very easy to store and takes up very littles space on a desk or nightstand.
This charging stand is NOT supplied with a wall plug so you will need your own one with a USB-C port. To use the ChargeTree Go as a multi-device charging station it requires a 20W / 2.22A wall plug. With the correct wall plug you will be able to simultaneously fast charge your phone of the front on the stand (at 15W/7.5W – most phones only accept 7.5W), charge your Apple Watch (3W max) on the spring arm and your Apple AirPods in their wireless charging case (5W max) on the rear of the stand.
Using it is simple. It is supplied with a detachable USB-C to USB-C cable which you must plug into a 20W wall plug. If you just want to charge your phone (Apple or Android) you have the option to leave it in its folded down position (it features rubber feet on the base to prevent slippage) or open it into its vertical position. If left folded, you just lay your phone on top and it will start to charge wirelessly, very fast as well. It you want to use it opened up in its vertical position, there is a good sized lip on the base which you stand your phone on to charge. When charging, there is a LED strip at the base of the charger that will initially illuminate to indicate that charging is in progress (this was a white light, not too bright or distracting but enough so that you can see charging is in progress), the light will turn off after a few seconds so if using it in a bedroom it will not keep you awake. When in the vertical position you can also charge your Apple Watch and AirPods at the same time. With the phone charging on the front, at the rear of the device is a small platform where you can easily place your AirPods in their charging case for them to wirelessly charge, just place the case on and forget about them. To charge your Apple Watch, the ChargeTree Go has a spring-loaded retractable pop-out arm to place the watch over – just give it a gentle push and the arm effortlessly pops out from the side of the charger. You then just hang your watch over it, and it will start to charge (this also features a LED light strip that illuminates). When finished, just push the arm back in until it clicks, and it is hidden out of the way again.
One of the biggest problems I have found with wireless charging stations is that a lot won’t charge with phone a case on. The ChargeTree Go works with most non-metal phone cases up to 5mm thick and works perfectly with my phone with its case on.
Overall, we love the ChargeTree Go. It is a very minimalistic device, but very sleek and versatile. It is perfect for charging a phone, watch and earbuds at the same time and at a very fast charging speed. It is extremely lightweight and portable (and is supplied with a good-sized carry bag to prevent damage) and makes charging simple, no need to go hunting for chargers or cables or having lots of different ones. And as it can charge all three devices at once, you only ever need one charger, whether at home or when you leave home.
We like that as it is Qi certified it will also charge Android phones as well (as long as they have wireless charging capabilities), so is not just limited to Apple devices. It also features built-in safety features that prevents overheating and overcharging and once the devices reach 100% charge it will stop charging them.
Our only niggle with the ChargeTree Go was that it doesn’t come supplied with a wall plug. At £70 for the ChargeTree Go, as it needs a more powerful plug than you might already be using, we think that it should be supplied with one. Usually, we like that devices don’t come with the adapters as most of us already have lots in drawers around the house but as this has specific power requirements, we think that one should be supplied to ensure proper charging of all devices. If you don’t have a suitable wall plug at home you can get them on Amazon for around £10/£12.
