Well, we are nearly coming into November, hasn’t this year just flown by, and it really is time to start thinking about those Christmas gifts. You might already be sitting there writing out your Christmas lists as we speak. One staple for Christmas gifts has always been smellies of some sort and this year won’t be any different, so we have been trying out a bath & shower gift set from ARRAN Sense of Scotland.
ARRAN Sense of Scotland are a company from the Isle of Arran in Scotland, formed in 1989 and are famous for their bath, body & home fragrance collections using soft, mineral rich Arran water which are still lovingly made today by the hands of the local people.
When it comes to smellies, we all like different things so choosing a gift around a scent can be quite a challenge. Will the recipient like it? Are they so stuck in their ways that they won’t try anything else except for what they currently use? That makes buying a scented gift set difficult to say the least.
We decided to try out the ARRAN After the Rain Discovery Gift Set, an inexpensive gift set comprising of Bath & Shower Gel, Shampoo, Body Lotion and Soap, but in smaller sizes so that the different smells of lime, rose and sandalwood can be introduced to the recipient in sizes that make them easy to try and fall in love with.
The After the Rain Discovery Gift Set comes in a compact cardboard gift box, which is 100% recyclable, even the bottles inside are made from 100% recycled plastic. The unique, fresh scent is inspired by an Arran garden following a rainstorm. The After the Rain scent has been around for over 20 years.
The gift set contains:
- Bath & Shower Gel – 30ml travel size bottle
- Body Lotion – 30ml travel size bottle
- Shampoo – 30ml – travel size bottle
- Soap – 25g bar
All ARRAN products are free from animal ingredients with the exception of bee products (honey, beeswax etc.) and are suitable for use by vegetarians. None of their formulations have been tested on animals and are cruelty free.
Overall, the After the Rain Discovery Gift Set is a perfect smellies gift set for someone to discover a fresh new scent and make a change from their tried and trusted ones. With its travel sized bottles, it is a gift that will be well received and is a perfect miniature set.
Whether the items in this set smell like a Spring garden on the Isle of Arran after it has rained I couldn’t possibly comment, but the fragrance of the items is floral fresh and clean and not too strong (a fresh blend of rose petals, musk and floral citrus combined with the notes of Arran’s precious woods).
The shampoo, bath & shower gel and soap lathers well and doesn’t leave behind a greasy residue, and you don’t have to use loads. They leave you clean and smelling nice and fresh. The body lotion leaves your skin soft and supple after use. Containing pro-vitamin B5 it promotes enhanced skin condition.
Personally, I would have liked the soap bar to be a bit bigger, there is space in the box for it, but it is a miniature set of their larger range – an introduction to the range.
The After the Rain Discovery Gift Set would make an excellent gift this Christmas for yourself, loved ones or even as a Secret Santa gift or stocking filler. The miniature bottles are perfect for trying out a new scent or adding to your travel bag and the fresh fragrance will leave you clean and refreshed. You certainly won’t be left feeling disappointed.
