Nitro Circus Stunt Scooter Review

Ryan Williams RW Signature Replica Complete Pro Stunt Scooter - Black / Gold

Stunt Scooter

Finding that perfect present for the kids at Christmas, or birthdays for that matter, is always difficult. When they are younger it is so much easier with action figures and those little ponies and unicorns kids seem to like, but as they get older and their interests start to change, present buying requires a lot more thought and effort. You want something that they will love, get plenty of enjoyment and use and also something that will last longer than a few weeks before it gets broken or buried in a drawer or toy box never to see the light of day again. Bikes and scooters are always a safe bet, not only are they an excellent gift but help keep the kids off their screens and devices but more importantly, keeps them active and healthier, are a simple and fun way to move around and gets them outside to enjoy the fresh air (just like people of a certain age will remember doing).

When we were children, scooters were basic things; a two-wheeled board with a handle (I’m not sure that they even had a brake). Now there is a lot more choice on the market with scooters for toddlers, electric scooters, foldable scooters, commuter scooters, scissor scooters being among some of the different types available and stunt scooters are an extremely popular type of scooter for kids. For those that are unfamiliar with a stunt scooter, they look the same as a regular scooter but have 360-degree swivel capabilities to make doing stunts and tricks so much easier.

With so many different types of scooters available where do you start looking for that perfect one for the kids? Well Skates.co.uk offer a large range of different scooters, as well as scooter parts, skateboards, mini BMX, skates, Heelys shoes (the ones with the wheels in the heels), and protective equipment such as helmets and pads.

Skates.co.uk kindly sent us one of their stunt scooters for the kids to try and we received the Nitro Circus Ryan Williams RW Signature Replica Complete Pro Stunt Scooter in Black / Gold.

The Nitro Circus Ryan Williams RW Signature Replica Complete Pro Stunt Scooter is an ideal stunt scooter for beginners and advancing riders, suitable for 8 years and upwards with a maximum weight limit of 100kg (around 15 stone for us old schoolers).

And for those asking why Ryan Williams, aka R-Willy, he is a freestyle scooter and BMX rider from Australia, an action sports athlete at the top of his game and this is a replica of one of his scooters, and has his signature underneath the deck.

Once we had it assembled and read through the safety instructions with the kids, we found their safety helmets and pads and waited for the rain to stop (and the squabbling over who was going first) and found a nice and safe place to use it.

The kids are absolutely over the moon with it. It is a zippy little scooter and they love that they can do stunts with it (basic things like bunny hops and spinning the deck, which the kids reliably informed us was called a Tailwhip – and between us, they need a lot more practice).

The kids can’t fault it. They love the gold colouring of the deck and how smooth it is to ride and rotate the deck. From an adults point of view (not being scooter experts) we can’t fault it either, despite it being quite lightweight it feels very sturdy, extremely well-constructed and the kids (eight and eleven) can use it with ease. Us adults had try it as well, for test purposes obviously, and we can vouch for it being a smooth ride, although we didn’t try any tricks as neither of us fancied a trip to the hospital!

We all love this scooter. It is a fun, smooth ride and if scooter tricks are your thing then it seems to cope with them very well (at least the ones the kids tried from watching YouTube videos, we are sure as they get more confident they will be trying more tricks). Lightweight and well-constructed it would make an excellent Christmas gift for the kids this year.

Please remember that this is a stunt scooter and riders should use the appropriate safety equipment.
