ttec PowerStones Trio Universal Mobile Chargers Review

Powerstones

With 95% of UK households having at least one mobile phone, that is tens of millions of batteries that constantly need charging. When you are at home or if the office, if the battery starts to run a bit low you can just plug it in to the wall (or even a laptop) and charge it. But with everybody being so busy these days (especially at this time of year for Christmas), what do you do when out and about? Finding somewhere to plug it into charge can be difficult and even if you can find somewhere you then have to sit and wait while it charges. The alternative is a mobile charger and I had the pleasure or trying out the PowerStones Trio Universal Mobile Chargers from ttec.

The PowerStones Trio consists of a dual charging station and 2 wireless and portable 5,000 mAh, 2.1A “PowerStones”. The PowerStones enable you to charge your devices on the go – each PowerStone can charge one device at a time. It doesn’t come with any cables or charger but you can use the microUSB charger that came with your phone to plug into the charging station. You will also need to purchase separately charging cables from the PowerStones to your device – none are supplied as depending on what type of devices you want to charge depends on what cable you use (micros USB, USB C, Apple etc.).

The charging dock has 2 ports for the PowerStones so that they can be charged together, or individually if one is in use. An excellent feature of the charging dock is that when you are inserting the PowerStones into the dock there is a small magnetic pull, pulling the battery into the socket. This means that you shouldn’t be able to damage the charging ports when plugging/unplugging them and ensuring that they are always correctly docked.

To fully charge the PowerStones takes approx. 4 hours from empty. Each PowerStone has a 4 bar LED indicator strip on the front so that you can gauge how much charge is in each one (in 25% increments). You can also charge each PowerStone without the charging dock as each one features a micro USB port so that you can plug in a micro USB phone charger.

To protect the PowerStones from damage they are surge protected and feature an automatic cut-off function when the batteries are fully charged (please note: the LEDs will remain lit while still in charger). The PowerStones are compatible with all mobile phone and many other mobile devices.

Overall, I think these PowerStones are absolutely brilliant. The PowerStones are light enough to carry with you (I do have a higher capacity one at home and that is very heavy) and light enough you use while using your phone or tablet. Depending on what device you are using you will get at least 2 full charges out of 1 one of the PowerStones (more on older devices like an iPhone 6 as I was using. I did also use on my Samsung Note and Galaxy Tab).

The PowerStones really do make charging your devices while on the move extremely easily.

They also look very stylish with their light grey colouring. The are quite small and unobtrusive but pack a lot of power. They even come with a 3-year warranty.

For anyone who uses their phones or tablets a lot then a portable power source is a must and the PowerStones deliver.
