ROCCAT® Khan AIMO Gaming Headphones Review

Khan AIMO

The ROCCAT® Khan AIMO Gaming Headphones are a Hi-Res certified Stereo Gaming Headset. They have a built-in microphone and feature an inbuilt 7.1 sound card (24-bit 96kHz DAC sound card for no noise) delivering 7.1 high resolution sound (precise surround sound with rich highs, mids & lows) with passive noise cancellation (they work great even in the nosiest of environments). And they are the most comfortable headphones I have ever had the pleasure of wearing.

The earpads are made from soft and comfortable memory foam padding. They also swivel up to 90° ensuring that you get a perfect fit. Weighing in at around 275g they are extremely lightweight. With the memory foam padding, swivel earpads and lightweight they really do make a very comfortable fit meaning that you can wearing them for an extended period of time. While in use, they feature RGB illumination and cycle through a combination of lights (they have a 16.M colour lighting engine with effects and presets). While you don’t see the lights while you are wearing them, it does look good for any onlookers.

The Khan AIMO headset is very easy to adjustable as it is fitted with steel sliders. The volume and microphone controls are located on the right earpad, making they very easy to reach and I found them easy to use.

The microphone is a fixed piece on the headset. It cannot be removed but it is easily moved up and down out of the way. It isn’t so close to your face that it feels obtrusive. The microphone does an excellent job of picking up your voice very well and it is clear and understandable to other listeners. My only issue with the microphone is that it doesn’t feel as substantial as the rest of the headset and I would have preferred a removed piece.

Now this set of headphones are slightly different than other headphones I have used in the past as the don’t have an audio or microphone jack. They are fitted with a USB connector, making it very easy to plug them into your games console or laptop.

While I would prefer a wireless Bluetooth option, as when gaming having a cable stretching across the room can be a pain and very limiting, this wired set has a generous cable length of just over 2 metres.

Overall, I found the Khan AIMO headphones to be a really comfortable set of gaming headphones. They are good quality and the sound, through the earpads and the microphone, is superb. They are lightweight, easily adjustable and fit very well.

If you are looking for a gift for a serious gamer then these would make a great choice. The extended wear while gaming is really comfortable. They are also great at cancelling out external background noise.
