What is it about bubbles? Kids just seem to love them. They love blowing bubbles, chasing and catching bubbles. But what about a giant bubble that they can actually play with? A giant bubble that looks like a bubble but behaves like a ball – it can be bounced around, thrown in the air, grabbed, kicked and even squashed but it is really durable and very hard to pop? Welcome to the Super Wubble Bubble Ball.
The Super Wubble Bubble Ball is a massive bubble that is loads of garden fun, a bubble that is extremely durable so is very hard to pop. It is made from a material called Xpandium – super-thermo-stretch-tacular stuff that is a very tough specially engineered synthetic rubber.
The Super Wubble Bubble Ball can be purchased in two ways, with or without a pump. If you don’t own a pump (preferably an electric pump) then it is best to purchase the version with a pump so that you can blow the ball up, if you already own a pump, you can save some money and just buy the ball (it does come with the appropriate nozzle). It is available in two colours: Boing Blue or Power Pink.

The Super Wubble Bubble Ball inflates to approximately 2.5ft, about 80cm. It really is a huge bubble. To inflate it, an electric pump is recommended. You will also need a cotton bud and some petroleum jelly (Vaseline), which are not included – these are needed to make inserting the nozzle much easier. Dip one end of the cotton bud in the petroleum jelly and insert it into the value, remove it and it insert the nozzle. Attach your pump and in about 2 minutes your Super Wubble will be inflated (don’t inflate more than 80cm).
With the Super Wubble inflated, playtime can begin. It is lightweight enough to play with indoors, but its size will make playing indoors quite limited unless you have a massive indoor space (just take away anything that can be knocked over easily). It is best to be played with outside in the garden or in the park where you can have more space for it to move around in.
Being a large bubble, we did have some reservations about how tough and durable it would actually be and how long it would last. We have kept it away from any bushes and trees in the garden so that it doesn’t get punctured, keeping just to the grass and surprisingly it has taken a lot of punishment being kicked, thrown and squashed and hasn’t popped, torn or punctured. The kids have absolutely loved it.
Overall, the Super Wubble Bubble Bar is excellent fun. We have it in the Boing Blue colour and out of the box it is a blue colour but when inflating the bigger it gets the more transparent it becomes, looking like a massive bubble. It is lightweight so floats through the air with ease and is perfect for throwing as it can very easily be grabbed, it can be squashed (maximum weight of user is 50kg), kicked, bounced and hit with ease. It is so strong that children can even sit on it!
You really do need an electric pump to inflate it, so make sure that you have one or purchase the version that includes the pump, especially as it does start to deflate after a lot of use or left overnight. It is easy to deflate and stores flat without taking up much space.
We have inflated and deflated a couple of times now after use and it is still as good as when we removed it from the packaging.
The Super Wubble Bubble Ball is an excellent outdoor toy that is fantastic fun, tough and durable. Easy to inflate (as long as you have a pump) and easier to play with. Ours has been bounced, thrown, squashed, kicked and sat on and has stood up to it all – although we have kept it away from the trees and bushes, so it hasn’t been punctured (it does come with repair patches if and when that does happen, we haven’t had the need to use them yet).
A fun way to enjoy the outdoors this summer for children aged 5+.
