The weather has been excellent over the past few weeks, and we haven’t even got into proper summer yet, it’s a great time to enjoy the outdoors. Whenever any of us leave the house, we always pick up our keys, money (wallet or purse) and of course our mobile phones. Our phones are great, minicomputers and cameras that we take everywhere with us, the only downside is that we must remember to charge them before we go out, no one wants a dead battery. The problem is that the battery almost always dies at the most important moments. A lot of us will carry a portable charger / powerbank so that we can charge our phones on the go, but these can be as big as the phone itself and a lot chunkier depending on the battery capacity and then you need to carry a charging cable as well. With that in mind, we have been trying out the iWALK Link Me Pro portable charger that is small enough to carry in your pocket, doesn’t require a cable to charge your phone and has enough power to fully charge your phone on the go (depending on what phone you have).
The iWALK Link Me Pro / LinkPod portable charger is available for iPhone and Android devices (it can be purchased with either a Lightning connector or USB-C connector). It has a 4800mAh battery, weighs approx. 90g and is small enough to fit in your pocket. It is a direct docking charger.
Overall, we think that the iWALK direct docking portable charger is absolutely excellent. It is small and lightweight enough to put in your pocket or bag when going out and has enough power to give your phone up to a full charge – perfect for when your battery is running low. Due to its small size and weight and being freed from cables, you can still easily use your phone whilst the charger is docked to the phone. It can also be used with other devices such as VR headsets, wireless earbuds (uses a low current to charge them), and other USB-C devices. It uses PD Fast Charging at 18W to fast charge your phone.
It is so easy to use. No hunting around looking for a cable or mains outlet, you just pop off the protective port cover (which stays attached to the device so that it doesn’t get lost) and plug it directly into the charging port on your phone. As soon as it is docked to the phone it starts to charge it.
The iWALK charger features a LED display that allows you to see how much percentage is left in the charger. It is displayed whilst plugged into your phone or you can press the power button on the side of the iWALK to see how much power is remaining.
When you have finished charging your phone (or other devices) you can just unplug the iWALK or you can power it off by pressing the power button on the side twice.
Charging is simple. For this you can use wired or cordless. You plug the cable into the iWALK (the port is located on the left hand side of the unit) and plug the other end into a laptop or power adapter (not supplied) or plug the iWALK directly into a USB port on a charging adapter. It takes approx. 1.5 hours to fully charge. It also features pass-through charging so that you can charge the iWALK and your phone simultaneously so that you only need one mains outlet and one power cable (although this can slow down charging).
The iWALK portable charger is an excellent small and lightweight device that provides charge for your phone without cables, the device itself plugs directly into your phone.
This is the perfect accessory to have with you whilst you are out making the most of the good weather this summer. Whilst you are out enjoying the outdoors this summer, running your phone battery down by taking lots of photos, the iWALK makes it so easy to top up your phone battery and still use your phone without having to look for a mains outlet and unencumbered by trailing cables. It is also available in four different colour options so you can match it to your phone: Black, White, Pink or Purple.
