It boasts a sleek modern design, with a removable shelf, removable door pocket and carry handle, that can seamlessly fit into any décor and it comes supplied with a sticker pack so that it can be customised and decorated to suit your personality. It comes in black or teal colours and its compact size (4 litres) is easy to tuck away, and can hold six 330ml cans. It adds a fun touch to your space and cold drinks always at hand.
The So Chill Mini Fridge is a USB powered, lightweight and portable, mini fridge – it measures approx. 28.5 x 19.2 x 29cm and only weighs 1.5 kg. Being USB powered it makes it very convenient to move around or take on trips with you. It comes supplied with a USB power cable (no power adapter, you will need to use your own or plug into a USB socket). It is perfect for kids, gamers, office workers etc. to keep their drinks cold and at hand.
When hearing the word “fridge” we automatically think of the big and bulky kitchen appliances, the white goods we all have and use for food and drink storage. While the So Chill Mini Fridge is perfect for keeping drinks cold, it is not a fridge for food storage, isn’t big and bulky and the teal colour (also available in black) adds a splash of colour to any room. While called a mini fridge, it is probably best to think of it as a cooler or chiller – you can’t put a warm can into it and wait for it to get cold, you put in an already cold can and it will keep it cold.
For gaming sessions or having by your desk at work, it is great. As it is compact and portable it is also good for using with a power bank and taking with you on camping trips or plugging into a USB port in the car. It has enough space internally for a 6 pack of pop.
Overall, the So Chill Mini Fridge is a great little cooler for a bedroom, gaming room, office desk etc. It keeps cans of drink nice and chilled and makes no noise while working. I wouldn’t call it a fridge as you can put things inside to make them cold, I would call it a chiller as it keeps cold things at ambient temperature – so if you put in a cold can of pop it remains cold.
While it has a fair amount of internal space, it is able to hold 6 330ml cans, I cannot fit a 500ml bottle of water, which is a shame – it needed to be a inch or so taller.
As a drinks chiller for bedrooms, playrooms or your office desk for cans of pop I think that it is great. It works well and silently. It has a plastic design and the handle doesn’t feel great, but it works. The door doesn’t sit entirely flush, but isn’t that noticeable.
While it is great for kids and gamers to keep their drinks cool, no need to get up when in the middle of an intense gaming session, I think that it is also great for picnics and camping trips. Just plug it in to a power bank and you can keep your drinks nice and cool, it does have a carry handle at the back to move it around easily.
And for users that like to stamp their own individuality on things, it does come with a cool sticker pack so that you can decorate it.
I would have to rate it as 4/5 stars, as it isn’t perfect. The door isn’t flush and I don’t feel that it is tall enough. That said, it does what it says it does and keeps drinks cold, but it could benefit from being a slight bit taller to accommodate a bottle of water.
